Former museum director Allison Weiss has "always been interested
in grass-roots projects," she says, and in making sure regular people
are involved when something big has to be tackled by a business or
government.
And that's what Weiss, Mount Joy's Main Street manager for six
months, thought "was really interesting" about the possibility of her
new role in the western Lancaster County borough.
"It's not government telling people, 'This is what we're going to
do for your town.'
"Instead, it's, 'What do you want to see happen in your town, what
do you believe is going to be successful?'" Weiss says.
