Deep in your closet, back beyond the lethargic chiming of
abandoned coat hangers, you go rooting through your vests.
You want your Christmas vest - brass buttons and red wool that
feels like pool table baize, except thicker. Your first wife bought
it for you and your new wife wants to throw it away, but there's a
manhood thing about vests - a gambling, fishing, motorcycle gang or
country gentleman thing, a carver of the Christmas turkey thing.
