Article: Colerain officials OK plan to form crime-watch program

Colerain Township supervisors last week unanimously approved a plan to form a crime-watch program for the Octorara Pines development.

Last month, the township sent letters to all 154 Octorara Pines households to determine whether residents would support the program. Forty-three letters were returned, equaling a 28 percent response rate.

"That's a better response than I expected," supervisor Walter L. Todd Jr. said May 2.

The results of the survey indicated a ratio of 2-to-1 in favor of establishing a crime-watch program. More than 30 residents agreed to participate in meetings and take part in the program.
