Voters put a controversial slate of endorsed Republicans on the
ballot in the Manheim Township School District primary, the most
hotly contested school district race Tuesday in Lancaster County.
At issue were views about the proposed high school renovation
project held by incumbents Ian Hodge and David Flores and endorsed
Republican candidates Douglas Stark and Douglas Shand.
Some citizens accused the four of hoping to stall the project, a
charge the candidates repeatedly denied.
Voters returned Hodge and Flores to the ticket and also placed
newcomer Stark on the ballot for the four open four-year terms.
Shand, seeking to fill an unexpired term, was defeated.
