Marty Crisp Choreographer Ann Nieman sometimes turns her back on
her dancers and just listens to the sound of their feet.
The rhythmic click-clip sound made by the metal plates on the toes
and heels of tap dancers' shoes assures her all her dancers are in
sync.
The leggy blonde with the swinging ponytail loves tap dancing.
"It's instant gratification," she explained.
"If you move your feet, you get sound. If you move them right, you
get better sound." Nieman's a natural to direct Dutch Apple Dinner
Theatre's Aug. 11-Sept. 24 production of "42nd Street." The nostalgic
tap-dance musical utilizing songs from the 1933 movie won a Best
Musical Tony Award in 1981 and a Best Revival of a Musical ...
