West Lampeter Township is considering zoning changes that would
open the door for the Willow Valley retirement community to expand on
a controversial property. Some residents vehemently fought Willow
Valley's plans six years ago to build its fourth retirement community
on a former 79-acre farm along Peach Bottom Road and Wynwood Drive.
As a result, Willow Valley ended up building a medical center, 220
apartments and a cultural center on only the northern 33 acres of the
property. That portion is zoned for high-density (R-3) residential
development. The retirement complex giant at that time dropped its
request for the township to rezone the farm's other 46 acres of light-
residential (R-1) ...
