Two Lancaster County high school students recently won National Merit Scholarships, awards based on SAT scores, application essays and endorsement by school administration.

The local winners are Christine M. Dubowy, Cocalico High School, who plans to attend Penn State University and study music education, and Meredith B. Kile, Hempfield High School, who plans to attend Ithaca College and study production/screenwriting.
