What to do in lawn and garden

It may have been a mild winter, but there's still plenty to do to get
your lawn and garden off to a good start, now that spring's in full
swing.
Here's a month-by-month calendar to help plan your around-the-
house activities from now through October.
APRIL
- It's time for spring cleaning. Clean out perennial beds; renew
mulch if needed, and rake your lawn to remove dead grass and winter's
leavings.
- Plant trees, shrubs, berry bushes and perennials as soon as the
ground is workable. Also plant vegetables such as asparagus,
broccoli, cabbage, chard, onions, peas and rhubarb. - ...
