Homeland Security Capital Corp., an Arlington company focused on
acquiring homeland-security-related businesses, bought Nexus
Technologies
Group, a New York security integrator. Homeland Security is run by
C. Thomas McMillen, who was named chief executive in August and
recently moved the publicly traded firm from Tennessee to the
Washington area.
Everest Software Inc., a Dulles business software company formerly
known as iCode Inc., raised $8 million from the sale of Series D
preferred stock to 12 investors, according to a filing with the
Securities and Exchange Commission. Investors include Boulder
Ventures Ltd. of Owings Mills, Sierra Ventures of Menlo Park,
