EASTON - When the United States invaded Afghanistan after last year's terrorist attacks, Professor Mohammed el-Nawawy - like the Al- Jazeera news network - was in position.

The Arab-language station was the only network with a bureau in Kabul.

The new Stonehill College communications professor had researched the network's fiery "Crossfire"-style talk show, "The Opposite Direction," for several years in preparation for an academic article.
