Robert Gass is stepping down after 24 years on the Randolph School Committee.

Gass made the announcement at last night's committee meeting. "It's time for new people," he said.

Gass said he's making his decision not to seek re-election public now in order to give potential candidates time to prepare for April's town election.

"I believe we need good people, people with energy and commitment, to step forward," he said. "It isn't any easier than it was 24 years ago. It's probably harder."
