No, wise guy, Theo Epstein didn't have to jump off his Big Wheel
when the call from Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino came Sunday. The first
person he told about his new job was not GI Joe, and the last person
he saw before hitting the pillow with a smile on his face wasn't
Raggedy Andy. This too-young-to-rule stuff is getting out of hand
because, as Lucchino said about the 28-year-old Epstein, the new Sox
general manager, "He'll be 29 in a month. Let's be fair." Ask
Epstein, now the youngest GM in major league history, about being
unqualified, and he'll ask, "Oh, you're skeptical about my age? Do
