HALIFAX - Arthur Frederick Means, 65, of Halifax, a retired
machine shop instructor and former auxiliary policeman in Weymouth,
died Friday at home.
Mr. Means retired from teaching in 1998. He taught at Blackstone
Valley Regional Technical School in Upton and previously at Blue
Hills Regional Technical School in Canton. Before becoming a teacher,
he was a machinist for Woodruff & Stokes in Hingham and Bendon Gear
Machine Shop in Braintree. In 1974, he became the industrial arts
instructor at West Bridgewater Junior and Senior High School.
Mr. Means also taught in a state Department of Youth Services
training program for troubled youths, was a scoutmaster six years in
Halifax and was a Little ...
