Bareboat charters in the Caribbean and southern California have lured sailing fans to spend their vacation time and money in those areas for decades. In New England's weather shortened season, such ventures have had some tough sailing with only a few exceptions. One of those that has survived, Charters Unlimited based at Marina Bay in North Quincy, has done so with some inventive organization that breaks away from the Caribbean model.
