Article: Schools' $746,000 request headed to town meeting

MARSHFIELD - The school committee will ask for an additional $746,000 at the Oct. 27 special town meeting.

The committee voted last night to submit the request for placement on the special town meeting warrant.

The committee announced in the spring that it would seek the money so that it could fully cover its operational expenses.

In the months leading up to the annual town meeting in April, the school committee and the selectmen disagreed on the size of the school department's proposed budget.
