Nine out of 10 Americans have friends or relatives who are
experiencing symptoms such as memory loss, addiction and depression,
yet only one in four realizes that these conditions all can arise
from brain disorders, according to a new survey commissioned by the
Dana Foundation.
Two thirds of adults report episodes of memory loss, but it is
widely considered to be a normal and inevitable part of aging, the
survey found.
But many neuroscientists and geriatricians believe that depression
in otherwise healthy elderly people is treatable. In addition, memory
