As school nurses fight a proposed state budget cut that could
eliminate as many as 150 jobs, they are beginning to believe Gov.
Mitt Romney may have inadvertently done them a favor. "If you
consider that so many people are now looking at the value of what
school nurses do and are rallying around them, he has certainly
brought it to everybody's attention," said Marcia Buckminster,
legislative representative for the Massachusetts School Nurse
Organization.With the attention Romney's proposed cut has drawn,
"We are closer now to people understanding the need for at least one
nurse in each building. I think now we will finally see it happen
within a couple of years," ...
