Many baby boomers find themselves juggling a full-time job, family
and primary care for an elderly parent. Few people, though, realize
home health care is only a phone call away. For example, Caritas Home
Care has two types of programs. One is requested by a doctor and paid
for by Medicare or other insurance. It includes a staff of nurses,
social workers, physical, occupational, speech and psychotherapists.
Another program involves support staff making regular home visits to
help with everything from bathing and oral hygiene to grocery
shopping and handyman chores. Support is also available to new
mothers, post-surgery and wound care patients and cancer patients.
