Often overlooked in the debate over the Greenbush project is a
component that will rejuvenate more than 4 acres of salt marsh off
the Driftway in Scituate.
"We're all very interested in how it turns out," said Samantha
Woods, executive director of the North/South Rivers Watershed
Association. "If it's a success, it could be a wonderful bookend to
the watershed of the North River."
The restoration project is a required concession for Greenbush
commuter rail construction.Construction of the new tracks and
stations will destroy more than 2 acres of environmentally sensitive
