RED SOX 3 Generally, the best cure for those I'm-on-the-
road-and-life-just-stinks blues is a return to Fenway Park.
Apparently, the Red Sox don't feel that way. Good teams don't drop 8-
3 home games to Tampa Bay with Curt Schilling on the mound when
they're faced with life-or-death situations and, make no mistake
about it, the Sox are fighting for their lives - even if they won't
admit it. "That's the thing," said catcher Jason Varitek when asked
last night about the lack of momentum this team has exhibited. "If
you lose one, you can buckle down and win the next day." Presumably,
