MANSFIELD - Off-price retailer TJX Cos. is closing two distribution centers in Mansfield and moving operations to Bloomfield, Conn. More than 500 Mansfield workers will lose their jobs in the move, part of Framingham-based TJX's effort to consolidate operations for the company's HomeGoods division, a TJX spokeswoman said. The first wave of 200 layoffs was planned for today; the remaining workers will be let go by the end of June. TJX operates the T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods chains.The Bloomfield center opened last spring. TJX expects employment there will grow from 350 workers to more than 500 as the company expands the number of HomeGoods stores nationwide from 216 to 600.
