QUINCY - Union leaders are calling for changes in how the city
handles the medical bills of firefighters injured in the line of
duty. Firefighters union President Thomas Bowes told city
councilors last night that some union members are getting bills and
collection notices from hospitals for late medical bills that the
city is expected to pay. Bowes said firefighters shouldn't be
forced to deal with medical bills incurred in the line of duty. The
