BOSTON - Lawyers for former Quincy City Councilor Michael D'Amico
will rely on a "remarkable life record" in court tomorrow to keep him
from becoming the city's first elected official sent to federal
prison on corruption charges. D'Amico, 29, convicted last June
after an FBI wiretap caught him taking a bribe, is scheduled to be
sentenced tomorrow in U.S. District Court in Boston. In court papers
filed this week, lawyers began pressing the case that D'Amico
deserves to be punished by probation only.
"Mr. D'Amico has lived with the horror of this federal prosecution
for approximately three years," wrote one of his lawyers, Robert
