No matter that a unisex cast performs the roles of both
conspirators against and comrades of the fabled Roman general in the
Actors' Shakespeare Project staging of "Julius Caesar." The women no
less than the men are fueled by the male hormones racing through this
production of arguably the greatest political drama ever written.
Under the savvy direction of Robert Scanlan, a company of 14 actors
takes on the multiple characters of the diverse body politic of Rome:
the ordinary citizens who are fodder for the ambitions of the
politicians, the accomplices to the crime, and the wives and servants
of the men making wrong-headed decisions that change the course of
history.
