Article: Cheesecake Factory eyes slice of Plaza; Critics fear parking woes at Braintree mall

BRAINTREE - South Shore Plaza is looking to expand again, this time to make room for the popular Cheescake Factory restaurant chain.

The planning board is currently weighing an application to build an 11,000-square-foot addition that would house the 383-seat restaurant. The plan has generated concerns from some corners as it would eat up 84 prime parking spots, while adding an estimated 25 cars per hour during peak business hours.

"The traffic is (awful)," planning board Vice-Chairman Ronald DeNapoli said of the plaza. "I'm concerned how we're going to manage traffic down there with a 400-seat restaurant."
