Some people might say it was simply democracy in its purest form. Others say it was so painful that they will never come back.

Marshfield's town meeting was slow, fitful and nasty this year. It was so bad that Town Moderator James Robinson, for the first time in his nine years in office, yielded his powers to Town Clerk Patricia Picco and proposed a resolution to voters last night during the fourth and final session town meeting session.

The nonbinding resolution, which passed on a voice vote, asks the selectmen to allow Robinson to appoint a town meeting review committee. The committee would review:
