BRAINTREE - Planning officials have served up a cold helping of rejection to a proposed Cheesecake Factory at South Shore Plaza. Despite their own sweet tooths, planning board members ultimately ruled 3-2 that concerns over the impact a 383-seat restaurant would have on traffic and parking at the already busy shopping center were more important.

"I would love to see the Cheesecake Factory in Braintree, just not at this site," board Chairman Michael Ford said.
