German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter is known not only for her
interpretations of romantic-period masterpieces, but also for
performances of 20th century repertoire and her championing of new
music. Frequently, her solo recordings have included works composed
for her. That's the case in Mutter's new Deutsche Grammophon CD,
which contains the world premiere recording of Henri Dutilleux's "Sur
le meme accord," recorded live in November 2003 with the Orchestre
National de France conducted by Kurt Masur. Commissioned for her by
Paul Sacher, Dutilleux's nine-minute Nocturne for violin and
