QUINCY - John R. Southerland, 61, of Quincy, a retired yacht
refinisher, died at home Saturday after a long illness.
Mr. Southerland worked for 40 years for local marinas, retiring
this year. He previously was a waiter at the Plantation and Rib Room
restaurant in South Shore Plaza.
He was a lifelong Quincy resident.
He was commodore of the Quincy Yacht Club in 1985 and a member of
the Commodores Club of America.
He loved nature and being outdoors.
