Coach Belichick is up at the blackboard, diagramming plays and
lavishing praise on the upcoming opponent. He mentions how fast they
are. He raves about their size. He's going on and on and on. Were
this a Tom Brady recollection, the Belichick in question would be
Bill, head coach of the New England Patriots, and the opposing team
might be the Chiefs or the Saints or the Colts. But this story comes
from the Joe Bellino memory bank. And so it's not 2005; it's 1960.
It's not some NFL heavyweight (or lightweight) that's being
dissected; it's the University of Washington. And it's not Bill
Belichick who has everyone's attention; it's his dad, Steve,
assistant coach at Navy ...
