Article: Friction abounds as town meeting is reviewed

After a particularly rancorous and plodding annual town meeting last spring, Marshfield Town Moderator James Robinson appointed a committee to examine ways to improve the conduct of the town's legislative body.

Unfortunately, at recent meetings, the town meeting review committee has appeared just as dysfunctional town meeting.

Still, those involved insist that the committee will make constructive proposals at town meeting this spring.

"The last meeting was pretty wild, but I think the committee is accomplishing a great deal of good," said Robinson, who serves as an adviser to the committee at its meetings.
