Article: Churches again offer shelter to homeless; Hospitality program's participants take turns providing lodging

A group of local churches has restarted its emergency shelter program for homeless men and is looking for volunteers.

The Task Force for the Homeless, a nonprofit group created to address the problem of homelessness in Plymouth, has launched its Overnights of Hospitality program in local churches for the winter.

Five Plymouth churches - First Parish Unitarian-Universalist, Congregation Beth Jacob, Christ Church, Zion Lutheran Church and First Church of Christ, Scientist - open their doors on a rotating basis to provide shelter and warm meals to homeless men throughout the winter. The program is based on a successful national model that is used on Cape Cod.
