Change town meeting or get rid of it entirely?

Those are possibilities facing town meeting members in Randolph when they convene on May 22. The same questions also could go before voters as early as November.

At a finance committee hearing last night, Town Clerk Brian Howard spoke in favor of a plan to cut the number of elected town meeting members from 240 to 120.

Howard said interest in being a town meeting member has waned significantly since he broke into town government 15 years ago.

This year there are 10 blank spaces on the ballot where there used to be candidates.
