Certain events such as weddings and proms require a tuxedo and,
while there are many styles and labels to choose from, the first
decision is often whether to buy or rent. Some say the cost of buying
a tuxedo is not warranted because the average person wears a tux only
a handful of times. On average, a tux will cost $400 to $600.
"If you buy, a tux is just going to sit in the closet and collect
dust," said Neil Foster, manager of Tuxedo Time in Braintree, which
also has locations in Boston and Pembroke.
