The first phone call about housework came at 6:07 Wednesday
morning and by 9:30 my Post-Haste voice mailbox was full. More than
100 people called to share ideas about what had worked for them and
how we can promote fair play between the sexes when it comes to doing
housework.
Many of the messages were from men who said they share housework,
and that's good news. And several, including Michael Gary, who is
single and lives in Fairfax, made the point that male college
students who don't expect to share household chores with their mates
might change their minds if more women took the initiative in the
rituals of courtship - including picking up the tab occasionally.
