BOSTON - Willie Mo Pena actually had a pretty smooth night at wind- whipped Fenway Park, but there was no sense in the Red Sox outfielder claiming he'd taken the head-to-head battle from Boston's opponent.

That's because the card for the main event - the one between the past and future kings of center field - was incomplete.

Coco Crisp will face Johnny Damon soon, though - almost surely the next time Damon (0-for-4 last night) and his New York Yankees visit Fenway May 22-24.

"It's going well," Crisp said last night of the fractured left index finger that has kept him on the disabled list since April 11. "The motion's coming back. Every day it's feeling a little better."
