Article: Mall eatery wants to be in front; Cheesecake Factory's effect on parking, traffic still a concern

The proposed Cheesecake Factory restaurant at South Shore Plaza has to be on the side visible from Route 128, despite a shortage of parking in the area, a lawyer for the mall told Braintree planning officials.

The deal between the mall and The Cheesecake Factory calls for the construction of an 11,000-square-foot restaurant between Joe's American Bar and Grill and the former Filene's site, which is now Macy's. The expansion would mean the loss of 68 parking spaces closest to the mall's main entrance.
