FOXBORO - As befitting a player who aspires to be a "shutdown" cornerback, Ellis Hobbs has shut down the Great Cornrow Experiment that had taken root on his scalp.

"My brother came up here and told me I looked like a drug dealer. If he thinks I'm a drug dealer, my mom's going to flip out," Hobbs said in explaining why he shifted to a more conservative, closely trimmed look. "Plus, it was itching, man.
