BEDFORD - Wesley Clark's supporters claimed victory at 9:15 p.m. last night, the first time the incoming results showed Clark at third place and not fourth.

Clark echoed that sentiment when he showed a half-hour later.

"Four months ago we came into New Hampshire as one of the elite eight," Clark said of the early field of Democrats. "Tonight we leave New Hampshire as one of the final four."

At deadline, Clark was in third place, behind Sen. John Kerry and former Vermont governor Howard Dean. He congratulated his rivals.
