Article: Three district court nominees draw criticism State House hearing set for Wednesday

Critics have raised concerns about three of the men Republican Gov. Craig Benson has nominated for judgeships in two of New Hampshire's busiest district courts.

One was arrested for DWI in 1999, a charge later dropped to reckless operation. Another has been accused by a retired judge of sexually harassing a Nashua court worker. A third was ordered by the attorney general to remove a violent photograph from his wall at the Hillsborough County Attorney's office.

Benson's staff has said repeatedly the governor continues to support his picks, but it will be up to the Executive Council to make the final decision next month, after a hearing Wednesday. Councilors say the men have as many champions ...
