Red River Theatres, the nonprofit group that wants to open an
independent cinema in downtown Concord, has received a $300,000 grant
from the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority.
The award is not cash but a grant of tax credits that Red River
can use to entice corporate donors. Although Red River is not yet in
a position to commit to the Capital Commons development planned for
South Main Street, this grant represents an important step in that
direction, Red River supporters said.
"There are a few more hoops that have to be passed through before
there can be a comfort zone that will make us feel satisfied," said
