HILLSBORO -- Donald E. Knapton Sr., 76, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at the Hillsboro House Nursing Home.

He was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro and wintered in Dunedin and Tarpon Springs, Fla.

The son of the late Kenneth Knapton Sr. and Georgia M. (Ives) Knapton, he was also predeceased by his wife, Carol (Griswold) Knapton; a brother, Kenneth Knapton Jr.; and an infant daughter, Dawn.

Mr. Knapton owned and operated Knapton Insurance for 30 years and Inchcape Real Estate Co. for 25 years.

He was the Hillsboro town clerk for 25 years; Hillsboro tax collector for 13 years; and the Hillsboro-Deering School moderator for one year. He was the precinct moderator, water and sewer commissioner, ...
