Dear ParentLine: It will soon be prom season. My 17-year-old daughter has never been asked out on a date. She is the only one of her friends who has never had a boyfriend and never been to any school function, such as the homecoming or other school dances, where kids are coupled up. My heart breaks for her. She even told me once that she feels like the "ugly duckling." I try so hard to reassure her that her prince will come someday, but I fear that this will be another season of heartbreak for her. What can I do?
