Article: Burton urged to resign; Lynch, GOP delegation cite ties to sex offender

Gov. John Lynch and New Hampshire's four congressmen called for the resignation of Executive Councilor Ray Burton yesterday, citing recent revelations about the criminal record of one of his campaign workers.

The bipartisan pressure comes after weeks of news reports detailing Burton's hiring of Mark Seidensticker, a convicted sex offender, for campaign work over the past decade. Seidensticker was arrested last month in Concord, accused of trying to provide alcohol to two teenage boys. He had previously been convicted of attempted sexual assault and indecent exposure. He also failed to register as a sex offender on at least three occasions.
