Natural gas customers are in for the same rude awakening as oil
customers this winter, energy experts say. The price of both are high
and will likely rise as the weather gets colder.
The average household will pay an extra $262 for heat this season,
according to KeySpan Energy spokesperson Sheila Colon-Bagley. The
increase in the price of natural gas, in turn, will drive up the cost
of electricity - even for those who don't have natural gas.
"All energy sectors are experiencing unprecedented price spikes at
this time," Colon-Bagley said. "We see that every day at the gas
pump."
