Article: Is it finally time for a school-funding amendment?; Yes! 'New Hampshire advantage' is at stake

The judicial shoe dropped Sept. 8, when the Supreme Court handed down its decision on educational funding. The court threatened to define what an adequate education is in New Hampshire if the Legislature fails to do so by June 30, 2007, just more than nine months away.

The day has come for legislators and the governor to stand tall and work together for the citizens of New Hampshire and do the right thing. Senate President Ted Gatsas is absolutely right in calling on the governor and lawmakers to work on a bipartisan constitutional amendment in a special session and to have it appear on the Nov. 7 ballot to let our citizens make the decision rather than our Supreme Court justices.
