Article: Irrigation Spigot on Again in Methow Valley

TWISP - Water has started flowing again in Methow Valley Irrigation District canals, even though irrigators and federal agencies have yet to work out an agreement complying with the Endangered Species Act.

On Wednesday, the National Marine Fisheries Service agreed to allow the irrigation district to run water until a hearing scheduled for next Thursday is held. The water will be used to seal the canals - the slow moving water allows mud to settle and prevents leaking - in preparation for full use in early May.
