Senior Legion Baseball -- Yakima Teams Start Slow in Tournament

Klamath Falls kept last year's finalists winless on the first day of the Firecracker Fourth of July baseball tournament at Parker Field.

The Oregon team played the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak to an 11-11 tie Thursday when the time limit was called, and later routed the defending champion Yakima Pepsi Beetles 13-2.

Klamath Falls' Brian Kinsman did plenty of damage to both Yakima teams, going a combined 7-for-9 with five RBI.

Brady Lamb and Brent Wyatt each had three hits for the Pak, while the Beetles were led by Gavin Blake's two hits.

Pool play continues today and Saturday with placing games scheduled for Sunday.
