OK, now that we've got those pesky white wines corralled (see last week's column), lets turn our attention to the center ring - your Thanksgiving reds!

I strongly believe that an all-American red wine best fits the spirit of this holiday, and I most often turn to zinfandel, for a couple of reasons. Although its origins have been traced back to Croatia, the zinfandel grape can rightfully be called ours. It has been grown in California since the mid-1800s, and there is little argument that American zins are far and away the best in the world.
