Q. My wife and I like to eat seafood, often it's spicy Asian
seafood, but we mostly like to drink red wines. What might work best
with this type of food?
A. Having red wine with fish used to be a no-no, but nowadays it
is frequently the best choice, especially with meaty fish such as
ahi, salmon and halibut. The type of wine you choose will depend, of
course, upon your personal drinking preferences, as well as the type
of fish and the amount of spice. In general, you will find that
lighter red wines, that put the emphasis on up front fruit flavors,
will work best with most fish.
So think about young pinot noirs, especially from California's
Central Coast, red wines from Beaujolais and the ...
